Everything a teacher actually needs

We built this game from the ground up for real classroom use — not as an afterthought. Every feature was chosen because teachers asked for it.

🎓
Classroom Team Mode
Run a live game with up to 8 teams. The teacher controls the board on screen while students buzz in. Full scoring with correct/wrong buttons per team, plus deduction support for wrong answers.
📅
Daily Challenge
A new solo single-player game every day. Students race against a 20-second timer per clue, track their streak, and share their emoji results just like Wordle. Great for warm-ups and morning work.
✏️
Fully Custom Questions
Edit every single question, answer, and category directly in the browser. Changes save automatically. Reset to defaults anytime. No spreadsheets, no exports — just click and type.
🎯
Daily Double
One random clue per round is secretly designated the Daily Double. When a team selects it, they wager before seeing the question — The Daily Double cell randomizes every game.
🏆
Final Round
A complete Final Round with category reveal, team wagering, and individual scoring. Step-by-step teacher controls reveal the category, then the clue, then the answer — perfect pacing for class.
💾
Saves Automatically
Your custom questions are saved to the browser's local storage and persist across sessions. Come back a week later and everything is right where you left it. No account, no cloud, no hassle.
🎨
Authentic Game Show Look
Deep blue board, gold dollar amounts, animated logo, victory confetti, and round-transition animations. The kind of polish that gets students excited the moment it hits the projector screen.
📱
Works Everywhere
Built entirely in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No installation, no plugins, no app store. Open it in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge on any computer, Chromebook, or tablet and it just works.

Up and running in under a minute

No setup, no account, no confusion. Here is all you need to do to run your first game.

Click Play Now above. The game loads instantly in your browser — no installation, no login, no waiting. It works on any computer or Chromebook connected to a projector or smart board.
2
Choose Your Mode
Select Classroom Game for a live team competition, or Daily Challenge for a solo single-player experience. Each mode has a completely different interface optimized for its use case.
3
Edit Your Questions (Optional)
The game comes loaded with dozens of ready-to-use questions across six categories per round. Or click Edit Questions to swap in your own curriculum-specific content. Every change saves automatically.
4
Add Your Teams & Play
Enter your team names (up to 8 teams), pick custom colors, and hit Start. The board appears immediately. Click any dollar amount to reveal a clue, show the answer, and award points — all from one screen.
5
Advance Through Rounds
Move from Round 1 to Double Points to the Final Round at your own pace. A between-round screen gives the class a brief moment to reset before the next round begins. Confetti flies for the winner.

Teachers love it

I have been using this for review days and my students go absolutely crazy for it. The daily challenge keeps them coming back even on weekends. It is the best free tool I have found in years of teaching.

Sarah M.
High School History Teacher

The custom question editor is so easy. I built an entire unit review in about 15 minutes. My 7th graders think it is the real show — they start cheering before the board even loads.

James T.
Middle School Science Teacher

Finally a trivia game tool that actually works on our school Chromebooks without any installation. The Daily Challenge is now part of our Friday morning routine. Students remind ME if I forget to put it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TriviaGrid really free?
Yes, completely free. The Classroom Game and Daily Challenge are both free to use with no account required. The site is supported by non-intrusive ads that help keep it running. There are no paywalls, no premium tiers, and no subscription fees.
Does it work on Chromebooks and school computers?
Yes. The game is built entirely in HTML and JavaScript — no installation, no plugins, no admin permissions required. It runs in any modern web browser including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on any device including Chromebooks, Windows PCs, Macs, and iPads.
How do I add my own questions?
Click the Edit Questions button on the main menu before starting a Classroom Game. You can edit every category name, clue, and answer directly in the browser. Changes are saved automatically to your browser and will be there next time you open the site. You can reset to the built-in defaults at any time.
How does the Daily Challenge work?
The Daily Challenge is a solo single-player game with a fresh set of questions every day. Each clue has a 20-second timer. You self-report whether you got the answer correct after it is revealed. Your score, accuracy, and day streak are all tracked locally in your browser. At the end you get a shareable emoji grid of your results — similar to Wordle.
Is student data collected or stored?
No student data is transmitted to any server. All game progress, scores, and custom questions are stored locally in the browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to TriviaGrid or any third party. The only data collected is standard anonymous analytics and ad-serving data described in our Privacy Policy.
Can I run this without an internet connection?
The Classroom Game mode works offline once the page is loaded, since all questions are stored locally. The Daily Challenge requires an internet connection to load today's puzzle. The Google Fonts used for styling also require a connection, though the game remains functional with system fonts if offline.
How many teams can play at once?
The Classroom Game supports up to 8 teams simultaneously. Each team gets a custom name and color. You can add or remove teams from the setup screen before starting the game. There is no minimum beyond 2 teams, so it works great even with just two small groups.

Ready to play?

No account. No download. No setup. Just click and your game is live in seconds.
